2011 Arkansas Turfgrass Association Tradeshow & Convention
The 2011 ATA Conference will be held January 19 and 20 at the Hot Springs Convention Center. Save some money by pre-registering for the conference. I am excited about this year’s educational program, which includes the following highlights:
- A great mix of speakers from industry and university turfgrass science programs.
- A Sports Turf session (new this year).
- Internationally renowned speakers from Auburn Univ., Univ. of Wisconsin, and Kansas State Univ.
- Pesticide Recertification and training for Arkansas State Plant Board Pesticide Certification Exam .

Turfgrass Graduate Students Compete Well (Again) at Crop Science Meetings
Long Beach, Cal. — Several current and former University of Arkansas graduate students presented their research in the Turfgrass Science division at the Crop Science Society of America 2010 International Annual Meeting this week in Long Beach, CA. Over 150 presentations on recent turfgrass research projects were made at these meetings. Three UofA students gave award-winning presentations at this year’s meeting and this marks the fourth consecutive year in which turfgrass graduate students from the University of Arkansas have won awards for their presentations.
